ZENTANGLE DESIGNS

ART 1, 2, & 3

NEED COPIES

ART 1 LESSON

PROJECT #1

  1. ZENTANGLE DESIGN USING CIRCLES.  YOU CAN USE CUPS, COKE CANS, TAPE ROLLS, ETC TO DRAW YOUR CIRCLES.  SEE IMAGES ABOVE.
  2. DRAW A MINIMUM OF 20 CIRCLES OVERLAPPING ONE ANOTHER.  SEE ATTACHED PHOTO
  3. IN EACH SECTION YOU NEED TO DRAW A DIFFERENT ZENTANGLE.  I HAVE SEVERAL PAGES OF ZENTANGLES YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM OR YOU CAN GOOD ZENTANGLES FOR 1000 OF OTHER IDEAS. MAKES SURE YOU DO NOT REPEAT A PATTERN.  TRACE YOUR DESIGN IN BLACK PEN OR FINE TIP SHARPIE.

 ART 1

PROJECT #2

ZENTANGLE LETTER

  1. DRAW YOUR FIRST LETTER OF YOUR NAME IN BLOCK LETTER FORM.
  2. NEXT, DIVIDE YOUR LETTER INTO AT LEAST 15 SECTIONS IF NOT MORE. THEN DIVIDE YOUR BACKGROUND INTO 5 SECTIONS
  3. IN EACH SECTION AS BEFORE YOU WILL DRAW A DIFFERENT ZENTANGLE IN EACH SECTION.
  4. YOUR FINISHED PROJECT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THE LAST IMAGE.
  5. AFTER ALL SECTIONS ARE FILLED WITH ZENTANGLES, ADD COLOR TO YOUR DESIGNS IN YOUR LETTER ONLY.  YOU MAY USE COLORED PENCILS, MARKERS OR CRAYONS.  WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO USE

 

ART 2 

LESSON #1

1.CHOOSE EITHER PART OF A FLOWER AND ENLARGE TO MAKE AN ABSTRACT DRAWING OR DRAW A PINEAPPLE.

  1. IF YOU CHOOSE THE FLOWER THE CENTER, PETALS ETC. SHOULD BE DIVIDED INTO MULTIPLE SECTIONS AS SHOWN ABOVE.  IN BOTH DRAWINGS EVERY SECTION HAS A DIFFERENT ZENTANGLE IN THE SECTIONS. BE CREATIVE. 

(YOU MAY USE THE DESIGNS ATTACHED OR YOU MAY LOOK UP ZENTANGLE ON GOOGLE)

  1. WHEN FINISH TRACE DESIGN WITH EITHER A BLACK FINE TIP SHARPIE OR BLACK PEN.

 

ART 2

LESSON #2

VISUAL WORD PLAY

  1. CHOOSE 6 WORDS TO ILLUSTRATE
  2. NEXT DECIDE HOW YOU ARE GOING TO ILLUSTRATE EACH WORD YOU HAVE SELECTED
  3. SEE THE SAMPLES ABOVE.  YOUR SIX MAY NOT BE ONE OF THOSE WORDS.
  4. ADD COLOR TO AT LEAST 3 OF YOUR DRAWINGS.
  5. EACH DRAWING SHOULD TAKE UP THE MAJORITY OF YOUR PAPER.

 

ART 3 

Lesson #1

  1.  CHOOSE EITHER A LANDSCAPE OR EYE FOR YOUR ZENTANGLE DRAWING.
  2. SEE THE EXAMPLES ABOVE. 
  3.  THE LANDSCAPE IS BROKEN INTO SECTIONS FOREGROUND, MIDDLEGROUND AND BACKGROUND. THEN IN EACH SECTION THEY HAVE DIVIDED THOSE UP INTO SECTIONS.  EACH SECTION HAS A DIFFERENT ZENTANGLE
  4. THE IS EYE DESIGN.  THE EYE IS THE FOCAL POINT, THEN THE AREA AROUND THE EYE IS BROKEN INTO SECTIONS.  EACH SECTION HAS A DIFFERENT ZENTANGLE.
  5. ONCE COMPLETE TRACE OVER YOUR DESIGN WITH BLACK PEN OR SHARPIE.
  6. THEN ADD COLOR.  YOU MAY USE WATERCOLOR, COLORED PENCILS, MARKERS OR CRAYONS.

 

ART 3 

LESSON #2

POP ART SELF PORTRAIT 

ROY LICHENSTEIN INSPIRED

  1. DRAW YOUR SELF PORTRAIT. USE YOUR PAPER. THESE SHOULD TAKE UP THE WHOLE PAGE.  DO NOT SHADE OR DETAIL TOO MUCH
  2. YOU NEED TO ADD A SPEECH BUBBLE OF SOME TYPE IN THE DRAWING
  3. NEXT TRACE YOUR DRAWING IN BLACK MARKER OF SOME SORT TO GIVE IT THE CARTOON/COMIC BOOK STYLE OF ROY LICHTENSTEIN.
  4. NEXT, USING A MARKER AND A RULER BEGIN ADDING DOTS.  ALL DOTS SHOULD BE IN A STRAIGHT LINE. YOU CAN CHANGE COLOR WHEN YOU HIT YOUR HAIR OR SHIRT ETC, BUT THE DOTS SHOULD BE LINED UP.
  5. YOU CAN FIND EXAMPLES ON PINTEREST.  LOOK UP THE ARTIST ROY LICHENSTEIN TO GIVE YOU IDEAS

 

ART 4 

LESSON #1

  1. DRAW AN ANIMAL OF OUR CHOICE, THE WHOLE SIZE OF YOUR PAPER
  2. EACH ANIMAL SHOULD BE DRAWN USING ALL PENCILS LIKE THE EXAMPLES ABOVE.  
  3. YOU CAN CHANGE THE SIZE OF THE PENCILS, YOU CAN BEND THE PENCILS TO FORM THE SHAPE ETC.
  4. NEXT, ADD COLOR. YOU MAY USE, WATERCOLOR, COLORED PENCIL, CRAYONS, ETC.
