Friday- School holiday for Good Friday

Art 1

Visual Mind Map

Students will receive a sheet of watercolor paper and a worksheet that MUST include all of the topics listed on the worksheet.

After they have drawn everything, you will need to go over your drawings in black sharpie.

Next, add colors to some images and to your background.  You may use colored pencils, crayons or markers.

 

Art 2

3D Cube

* students will be given a pattern that has already been drawn off for them of the cube.
*They need to draw all of the folding lines looking at the patterns on the table using a ruler.
*Next, students will draw different designs, zentangles, images on each square
*Once they have drawn everything they will color in the designs with color sharpies.
*They will need to cut their cube out.
*Finally, they will assemble the cube using glue

*Watercolor Unit-

-Students will begin with a watercolor exercises. This will allow them to get familiar with the medium
– Students will divide their paper into 20 squares.
-In each square we will try different techniques in watercolor (salt, sponge, rubber cement, wet into dry, tape, crayon, etc)

Watercolor Fish
-Students will create an underwater scene with different types of tropical fish.
-They will draw their images very lightly on their watercolor paper.
-Students will begin watercoloring their paper using the different techniques we used on our technique chart.
-Students will need to tape their watercolor paper down to a piece of cardboard so that their paper will not curl up.

Art 3 & 4

Monochromatic Self Portrait

*Students will take a close up self portrait of their face.

*Then they will upload their image into a program that will change their image into a grey scale.

*We will then print off their image and place a transparency over the top and trace the contours

*They can now grid their transparency and their large sheet of paper

*Next, they will begin drawing

*After all is drawn they will then choose a color to create their image into a monochromatic value scale.  They may choose the color they want to use for their monochromatic scale.

Materials:  clay, clay tools, water, newspaper, screens, printing ink,watercolors, silkscreens, masking tape, rulers, acrylic paint, large drawing paper, black sharpie, tagboard,  drawing paper.

Clay Pinch Pot Fish

We will  add color to the dry clay after they have finished the Monochromatic Self Portrait
