Students will begin drawing eyes, nose, mouth and ears from a step by step worksheet.  Videos are uploaded on google classroom for step by step guidance.

Magazine features

Next, students will choose 2 sets of eyes, 2 lips, and 2 noses out of a magazine.
They will redraw these. After they have been returned they will glue them in their composition book.

Art 2

Linoleum Prints-

– Students will plan their print by making a pencil sketch on a piece of paper the same as their printing block
– When they have their idea they will shade in the areas that they are not going to carve away.
-Next, students will transfer their image to their block.
-Students will then begin carving the surface with lino cutters. What they carve out will remain white. Remember the final print will be reversed. If using lettering make sure you carve it backwards.
– Once you carve something out it can not be put back
– After they have completed their carving they will apply a small amount of ink on a inking plate and roll over it with a brayer several times to load it with a smooth, even coat of ink.
– Next, they will roll the brayer across the surface of your linoleum, first horizontally and then vertically, to be sure the ink coverage is consistent and all corners and edges are inked.
-Students will then lay a sheet of paper on top of their block and rub gently to get an even print of their image.
-Students should print at least 5 copies of their image. they may choose to print it all in the same color or change colors.
