Art Lesson Plans Aug. 21-25

Art 1

Experiencing the shift from the left to the Right
*Students will receive a handout and discuss what they see in each image and how it works

Worksheet on Switching from the L to R
*Students will receive a handout that half of the image is drawn.
*They will have to redraw the image on the opposite side of the page.
*It will be a mirrored image.

POSITIVE/NEGATIVE VASE FACE **Need Black sharpie

* Students will draw a profile of a face the right side of their paper and then they will draw a mirror image of the profile on the left side of their paper.
* They will then connect the two profiles and create a vase
*Next, students will draw different types of shapes, lines, patterns, etc. in the positive part of the vase. To create a unique design.
* They will need to fill in their designs with a sharpie.
* When all color and sharpie is added then they will cut the faces leaving only the negative vase shape.

Art 2

Value Scale

*Students will learn how to create values with a pencil
*They will have 5 different values to create from light too dark.

Worksheets on Values
Stippling, cross hatching, blending, etc

How to shade basic forms worksheet with 5 values on 3D shapes

Value Project

*Students will draw an image or scene to incorporate a 15 scale value scale in pencil

*Examples will be loaded in their google classroom

Art 3 &4

Study Austin Artist – Not sorry art (youtube video on artist and her work)

Disco ball painting

Students will draw a large circle on poster board.

Next, they will lay down several base colors on their circle completely covering the surface.

Then they will then paint the contour lines for glass pieces on the disco ball using a light color.

They will use a reference photo to lay in their variety of colors to create the disco ball.

Competition Track Students

Students will begin working on their artwork for the Ft Worth Stock Show

Supplies: rulers, worksheets, value pencils, paint, brushes, sharpies, poster board

Resources: Chrome books, handouts, books, design pages
Evaluation: rubric

Modifications: Extended time of completion of assignment
