Art 1

Color Scheme Pages – we will complete these on Tuesday
will paint 9 different color scheme pages (triad, complementary, split complement, etc.)

ABSTRACT DESIGN
*Divide your 12×12 paper(tagboard) into 4 equal sections

  • Next, you may choose to do a abstract face or a abstract design
  • If you are doing a n abstract face you should have all features of the face and some maybe a profile of a face and some maybe the front view.
  • If you are doing the abstract design.  You should have at least 3 geometric shapes one shape that has a hole in it, a curvy line that weaves through it (top to bottom), draw 6 lines (vertical, diagonal, horizontal)  Do not include your division line as one of the lines
  • Paint each square the color combination
  • #1 Value Scale (black, white and grays)
  • #2 Monochromatic of 1 color
  • #3 Analogous color scheme
  • #4 Complementary color set (choose one set example violet and yellow)

Art 2, 3 & 4

Students will be working on either their pieces for VASE or the Longview Art Museum

Modifications: Extended time for completion of assignment

We will mix our secondary and intermediate in cups to use for our paints.

Students will be keep their paints in their drawer.

COLOR WHEEL
-Students will draw a circle with 12 even sections
-In the inside of each piece of the pie they will place a shape that they will repeat 12 times in each piece of the pie.
– the outer part around the circle they will repeat their shape in that space also.
-Next, students will paint the colors of the color wheel.
-The outer space around the color wheel they will paint the tints and shades of each color.

*Students will selected a pop icon
*We are basing our project off of  American Gothic, Mona Lisa,  or the Scream.
* They need to find a recognizable person to replace the main focal point in one of the following artworks.  They must recreate the background to be able to recognize the painting (samples posted in google classroom)
*They will have a sheet of 11×22″ tagboard to draw their images on
*Their images should be the main focus in their drawing, not their background
*They will mount their image on either red or green bulletin board paper.
*They need to have their names and a title on the paper, along with other decorations or images.                                                                                                        *These will hang in the main hallway on a banner

Homemade Christmas Cards

Will create 10 handmade Christmas Cards for our Toy Drive.

Cards should be all hand made and neat and colored.

Treehouse in 2 point perspective

-2 pt perspective used correctly

-doors and/or windows

– must have a creative way to enter the treehouse

-must have at least 3 different sections to the treehouse. (See samples on back of worksheet or in google classroom)

-Do not copy the samples.  Make it your own!!!

-must show indication of season (if on earth example Fall, Winter, Summer, Spring), if not on earth, must have details to support the location

-“overwhelm your drawing with lots of unique details that tell us about the owner of this house”

-nicely drawn, nicely colored with colored pencil

Be creative!!!  This is a MAJOR Grade!!!!

*Next, students will draw their name in 3-D using one point perspective.
*They will shade in their dimension using their pencil….Dark to Light

Construction Paper Silhouette

*Students will draw a scene, person, animal, etc on a white sheet of paper
*Next, students will have to decide what will stay the black construction paper and what will be cut out.
*They will then lay there pattern on top of the black construction paper and use an x acto knife to cut out the areas that will have color behind them
*Glue colored construction paper to the black

3D Cube

* students will be given a pattern that has already been drawn off for them of the cube.
*They need to draw all of the folding lines looking at the patterns on the table using a ruler.
*Next, students will draw different designs, zentangles, images on each square
*Once they have drawn everything they will color in the designs with color sharpies.
*They will need to cut their cube out.
*Finally, they will assemble the cube using glue

Painting Pumpkins

*Students will bring artificial or real pumpkins to decorate for Halloween
*They may paint or add items to create a unique pumpkin for the holiday

Monday – Holiday

Art 1

Thank You X Mural

Each student will receive a cube on cardstock

They will design 2 sides of the 3D cube.  They must add color to the cube. The top of the cube should be colored solid black

After all cubes are complete we will make a huge mural with the cubes.  This is inspired by artist Thank You X

Need a Ruler!!!!!

– Perspective Unit
* Students will copy down a list of vocabulary words that they will need to know during this unit of perspective such as: horizon line, diagonal lines, point of view, foreground, etc

One Point Perspective Unit
*We will work step by step
*First, we will begin on how to draw boxes in one point perspective.
* We will draw 3 boxes together. One above the horizon lines, one below the horizon line and one to the left or right of the horizon line
*Students will then draw 4 more boxes on their own
